The Preacher Man Cometh

Are you hiding? 
Are you scared? 
Have you done more than they dared ?
Destroying those who trust your ways,
A prowling wolf with sheeplike gaze.

You’ve lied and twisted all your life, 
Deep down living in a cesspool of strife.
Wearing lead disguised as gold,
Sporting silverplate jewelry , tarnished with mold.

You’ve taken advantage of those who cared, 
Gaining their trust, and they willfully shared.
Waiting in the shadows for their weakest days,
They give and they give, and you wait to take it all away. 

And one cold night, in a bar dim and dark,
a man comes in to watch you, for you are his mark.
He knows what you’ve done, he knows where you’ve been.
He knows you will cheat and lie til the end.

He looks at you and smiles , grasping his book.
His gaze is piercing, you’re cold from his look. 
He thrusts out his book, he knows what you’ve done.
His eyes burn through you, you’ve no where to run.

You may have them fooled son, but i know your game.
We’ve never been introduced, but I know your full name.
Your day is coming, you pitiful greedy man.
Judgement awaits you… I am the preacher man. 
You can run and run , til your grey and you’re old,
But the Preacher man cometh to condemn your shameful soul.

The hat man is hungry,
Your sins feed his rage.
The preacher man cometh, 
Numbered are your days.
